"Damm" is one of the oldest streets in Peine, a town in Lower Saxony. Solomon Perel (also Shlomo Perel or Sally Perel) was born 21 April, 1925 in the house Damm 1 to a German Jewish family. He escaped persecution by the Nazis by masquerading as an ethnic German. His life story is told in the film Europa loosely based on his autobiography Ich war Hitlerjunge Salomon (I Was Hitler Youth Salomon).
Die Straße "Damm" ist eine der ältesten Straßen in Peine, Niedersachsen, Deutschland. Im Haus Damm 1 wurde der Jude Sally Perel (Salomon Perel) geboren. Er gab sich in der Nazizeit als Deutscher aus, verbarg seine jüdische Herkunft und konnte so überleben. Seine Lebensgeschichte wurde in dem Film "Hitlerjunge Salomon" verfilmt.
